Can Kalmia assist me?
We provide non-medical in-home personal care services on an hourly, live-in, and 24-hour care basis. You can find a list of offerings on our Services page.
How are caregivers chosen?
Even with the current caregiver shortage, we still employ a selective hiring process. All caregivers undergo the required federal and state background checks, license verifications, and an audit of their personal driving record. In addition, we require caregivers to demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skill to meet the requirements of the specified case before ever placing them with the member. All caregivers are W2 employees.
Do you charge for initial assessments?
Yes, we charge $99 for initial assessments. However, the assessment fee is refundable after 6 weeks of continuous service. All our assessments are conducted by a qualified and experienced member of staff.
Is there a contract?
We have a service agreement/contract with each member as required by the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, the governing authority for non-medical home care agencies. However, the service agreement is at will and can be terminated by either party with 14 days’ notice.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept ACHS, credit cards, and some Long Term Care insurances.
